PEEK Anterior Cervical Spacer System (orthopedic Implant) is an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion device offered in pure PEEK Optima®. It is offered in a variety of heights, footprints, and lordosis profiles to accommodate varying patient anatomy’s. PEEK features a large graft opening for bone graft material.

What is Intervertebral cervical cages Implants (Disc spacer)?
The Cervical Cage (ACDF)  (orthopedic Implant) is an inter-body fusion device whichprovides mechanical stability whilst facilitating optimizedconditions for fusion. lt cannot be visualized due to theradiolucent property of the biocompatible cage material.

Cervical Implants  (orthopedic Implant) are designed so, to match the anatomy of cervical vertebrae the best, to ensure maximum safety of their use. Large spaces inside the cage allow for application of autologous bone graft or bone substitute. 

What is Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF)?
Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) is a commonly performed spinal fusion procedure for the decompression of the cervical cord due to disc protrusions and posteriorly projecting osteophytes.
It is not to be confused with an ACDA (anterior cervical disc arthroplasty) (orthopedic Implant) .

Indications
Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion is generally indicated in patients with spondylosis or disc herniation of the cervical spine with myelopathy/radiculopathy that is unresponsive to conservative therapy. Furthermore, it may also be indicated in certain malignant, traumatic, or infective processes of the cervical vertebrae which result in instability 5, 6

Contraindications
A relative contraindication to anterior cervical discectomy and fusion are anatomical variants of the vertebral artery 6.
